Brandon week was very enjoyable again this year. Lyne's cottages and Murphy's pub are as good as ever.

We had mixed diving conditions, viz varied from awful to very good, winds were from the North which kept us on land for a few days however we still had some very good dives. Mahony's Bank and the Boulders at Deelick point were the best on the first weekend and we had good dives at Saus Creek at the end of the week, where I saw an octopus. This was a first for me in Irish waters. We were escorted by a school of dolphins on a few occasions, always fascinating to watch them.

We did not go hungry. Thanks to Brian, our master chef, and all the chefs who cooked beautiful meals. The standard was so high that we did not eat out at all. I think I will have to put an extra weight on my belt as a result.

Brandon is a perfect base for cycling and hillwalking so there was plenty to do there.

Thanks to Aude for towing the boat, Ray and the Inbhear Sceine Club for use of their compressor and boat and to everyone who came along and contributed to a great holiday.
